We verify that our members operate legitimate, insured, registered Canadian businesses.
We recognize the professional credentials they’ve earned from certifying bodies across North America. We never grant certifications ourselves; we don’t need to.
Our role is to hold the standard and give the public a trustworthy way to find the real professionals.

CPCP members earn their recognition. They don’t pay extra for it. Here’s what each badge means when you see it on a pet care professional’s website or marketing.
Pathway to PRO
CPCP members who are at the beginning of their journey — building toward Startup PRO. Not publicly listed in our directory; working behind the scenes with CPCP’s education and support.
Startup PRO
A CPCP member actively building toward the full Verified PRO standard. They’ve completed CPCP’s Business Readiness Program and are operating a real pet care business.
Verified PRO
A legitimate, insured Canadian pet care business. CPCP has verified their business registration, insurance, and professional practices.
Accredited PRO
A Verified PRO who also holds an active professional credential from a recognized certifying body and completes six hours of CPCP CEUs each year.
First Aid Ready
A CPCP member at any level who holds a current pet first aid certification from Walks ’N’ Wags or an equivalent recognized program.
Fear Free Ready
A CPCP member at any level who holds a current Fear Free certification in their professional role.
