Startup PRO
1. Join CPCP at the Pathway level.

Verified PRO
1. Join CPCP at the Verified PRO level.
2. Submit your business verification documents.
3. Agree to the Code of Ethics.
4. Get approved and listed in the public directory as "Verified PRO"
Accredited PRO
1. Be a Verified PRO in good standing.
2. Hold an active, recognized accreditation from the CPCP Approved list.
3. Complete 6 CPCP CEUs in your membership year.
4. Earn the gold-star Accredited PRO designation and badge.
First Aid Ready / Fear Free Ready
1. Be a CPCP member at any level.
2. Hold a current certification (Walks ’N’ Wags for First Aid; Fear Free in your role for Fear Free Ready).
3. Submit proof.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between Verified PRO and Accredited PRO?
Verified PRO and Accredited PRO are both the same cost.
Verified PRO confirms you run a legitimate, insured Canadian pet care business.
Accredited PRO is earned on top of Verified PRO by holding an active professional credential (from our Approved Accreditations list) and completing six CPCP CEUs per year. Accredited PRO shows as a gold-star accent on your Verified PRO badge.

Do I have to pay more to become Accredited PRO?
No. Accredited PRO is an earned status within Verified PRO, not an upgraded tier. You pay $288 per year for Verified PRO membership, and you earn the Accredited PRO designation through your credentials and continuing education, at no additional cost.
What counts as an ‘active accreditation’ for Accredited PRO?
Any credential on the CPCP Approved Accreditations list, as long as it’s current and in good standing with the issuing body. See the full list on our Approved Accreditations page. If you hold a credential that isn’t listed, you can submit it for review.
What counts as a CPCP CEU?
At launch, CEUs are earned through CPCP’s monthly expert webinar series — attended live or via replay. One hour of CPCP-delivered content equals one CEU. Accredited PRO members need six CEUs per year, which means about one webinar every two months. All CEUs are tracked in your member portal.
What happens if I don’t complete my six CEUs one year?
What’s the Business Readiness Program?
It’s a six-module CPCP curriculum for Pathway members, covering the fundamentals of running a legitimate Canadian pet care business. Completing the program is how Pathway members earn their Startup PRO badge and directory listing. Included at the Pathway price — no extra cost.
